Welcome back to our first week of class (and another 10-week rollercoaster of fun and excitement!). Please remember to do the reading and video prep/rehearsal BEFORE our weekly meeting. This will allow us to maximize our time practicing, honing our skills, and conversing in ASL with each other.
Congratulations on continuing your journey through the Deaf World! I'll be here to guide you, learn alongside you, and help you make fun and silly mistakes as you work towards fluency, understanding, compassion, and discovery!
We will be having a visitor to class, around 11:30am PDT. Amy Pulido, a DeafBlind friend of mine, will tell you a little bit about herself, her discovery of her DB identity, and her involvement with the local Los Angeles/Southern California DeafBlind Community. We will try to leave 10-15 minutes at the end of class for her to answer brief questions.
If we run out of time, you can email, Remind App, or Text Msg me additional questions, which I may collate and get answers from her, to then add to our website here!
We will be having another visitor to class, around 11:30am PDT. Chad Metcalf, a DeafBlind friend of mine, will tell you a little bit about himself, his discovery of his DB identity, and his involvement with the Southwestern Region DeafBlind Community, as well as nationally (and maybe internationally!).
We will try to leave 10-15 minutes at the end of class for him to answer brief questions.
If we run out of time, you can email, Remind App, or Text Msg me additional questions, which I may collate and get answers from him, to then add to our website here!
